The successful 40 years of P.S.I. Auction

“Our customers’ success is our motivation” (Ulli Kasselmann), this is the secret of 40 years in the P.S.I. Auction.

40 years ago equestrian pioneers Paul Schockemöhle and Ullrich Kasselmann conceptualized and hosted the first P.S.I. Auction. Since the inaugural hammer fell at that first auction in New Port, Rhode Island, the legend of Performance Sales International and its founders has grown. Over the years that hammer has fallen over 2000 times as each meticulously selected and carefully prepared auction candidate has been united with their new owners and riders and gone on to have outstanding careers in show jumping and dressage.

Unparalleled Genetics
The unique concept of the Performance Sales International is what sets it apart from other auctions and turned it into Europe’s most successful private sport horse auction. “The majority of the auction lots are horses that we have either bred ourselves or bought as foals,” said Paul Schockemöhle. “This means we can start a targeted training programme from day one of their career under the saddle. This helps us to ensure excellent standards of quality.” Paul Schockemöhle’s Lewitz Stud is a unique source of young talents, complemented by the Kasselmann family’s breeding programme at the Osthoff Stud, where the pair are in control of an incredible genetic capital.

Proven Performance
The collection of youngsters sold at the P.S.I. Auction in previous years has proven time and time again the unparalleled quality of Paul Schockemöhle and Ullrich Kasselmann’s breeding products. P.S.I. graduates have proven their excellence and have been named national champions in both dressage and show jumping through to world champions and Olympic candidates in both disciplines.
This year’s collection contains a wide selection of talented youngsters including the freshly crowned German National Champion of four-year-old dressage horses, Saniola (photo above), as well as the five-year-old Oldenburg state show jumping champion Alvaro Star PS (next photo).

The 40th P.S.I. Auction will take place on December 7th and 8th 2019 at the Auction Center in Ankum Germany.
This auction also delivers a comprehensive service package that customers won’t experience anywhere else. Equine transportation to anywhere in the world, insurance
covering the entire purchase price, comprehensive veterinary documentation and, if desired, post-purchase training for the rider and the horse, set new owners up to succeed with their new equestrian partners.

“Our customers’ success is our motivation,” said Ulli Kasselmann, explaining the principle on which the P.S.I. auction is based.
